This page gives an overview of the support available for different groups affected by the MG Rover situation, and provides links to the relevant sites.  It is regularly updated.

For Employees

  • The Job Centre Plus hotline on 0121 254 5710, is available for workers affected.

  • Additional JobCentre Plus and skills advisors are available to see staff from Monday at the Northfield office and throughout the Region.

  • A flier giving further information for staff is available here.

  • JobCentre Plus produced an advice brochure for all employees available here to download

  • A Job Match Hotline 0121 452 5453 has been established for all companies who may have job opportunities for Rover workers who have been made redundant.

For Suppliers

A business support package is in place for companies in the MG Rover supply chain. It is intended to provide breathing space in the short term and, in the longer term, develop new opportunities

  • Call the Rover Hotline for Business – please contact us directly on 0121 607 0121 this is open 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. You will be in direct contact with Birmingham Chamber of Commerce who have a team of advisors ready to help with your queries

  • Call the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales hotline on 0121 697 7002 for financial advice on coping with the crisis

  • Call your bank and your accountant to discuss how the situation affects you – they will frequently be able to provide helpful advice and support
